On the morning of May 28th, Chinese and foreign education experts gathered with principals, educators and industry leaders to discuss the future of international education in Hainan.
The theme of the forum was “Localizing International Education in Free Trade Zones.” The aim being to gather leaders from education, government, research and development, and Maple Leaf to share ideas and discuss the future.
Feng Wenhai, director of the Hainan Provincial Political Consultative Committee, and Long Weidong, deputy mayor of Haikou Municipal People’s Government, said in their speech that this forum focuses on the development of China’s educational modernization, not only with long-term goals but also with firm strategic thinking and practicality.
Wang Jinying, the president of Hainan Maple Leaf Education District has years of dedicated experience with Maple Leaf. She spoke about the Maple Leaf Education Model and how the strength of Maple Leaf’s private education model uses the combination of Chinese and Western education optimization to achieve localization with a global perspective.
Chen Zhiwen, editor-in-chief of China Education Online, gave a speech on the theme of “Challenges and Reflections on International Education.”
After the Keynote addresses, a round-table dialogue focused on “2035 International Education” was held. Maple Leaf Educational Systems Vice President Ren Hongge pointed out that the establishment of the Hainan Maple Leaf Education District will work towards the goal of developing elite talents for the Hainan Region. Hainan Maple Leaf graduates will be in a unique position with a global and local perspective and will be able to contribute to the development of the Hainan Free Trade Zone.
The guests who participated in the forum said that it was an excellent event with historical significance and practical value. The holding of this forum will play an important role in expanding international cooperation and the exchange of education, promoting the internationalization of education, and especially promoting the localization of international education in Hainan.
