On July 2, 2020, Maple Leaf Educational Systems and Lishui District of Nanjing Government formally signed a memorandum of cooperation. The two sides will jointly establish a Maple Leaf International School in Lishui District, Nanjing.
Dr. Sherman Jen, Founder and Chairman of Maple Leaf Educational Systems, said at the ceremony: “Maple Leaf Educational Systems adheres to the principle of serving the development of local economy and social undertakings, as well as cultivating talent for the future of local regions and the country.”
“According to the memorandum, Nanjing Maple Leaf International School will be designed with a capacity of about 4000 students, including preschool, elementary, middle, and high schools. It will open on September 1, 2022. It will enroll students from all over the country. With the strength of the MLES brand and system advantages, we will make every effort to adapt to Nanjing’s urban positioning, match the strategic objectives of Lishui District, and directly connect with global universities in the High-end International Education Park.”
Lishui District is a hub located in the southern-central part of Nanjing which integrates airport, railway, transit, highway, and waterway junctions. With an ecologically friendly environment and distinctive industrial characteristics, it is an attractive location for high-end industries and highly-skilled professionals.
The founding of a Maple Leaf campus in Nanjing will help to improve the quality of international education in Nanjing, accelerate the regional process of internationalization of education, contribute to regional investment, attract investments and talents, and reinforce rapid development of the regional economy and society.
